Jiangsu province now has a permanent business base in Kazakhstan's capital. In June 2026 the Jiangsu Center in Central Asia opened in Astana, and the Jiangsu Province Trade and Economic Representative Office in Kazakhstan was inaugurated at the same event. According to the operator, Suhao Holding (苏豪控股), the ceremony took place on 11 June local time; Kazinform reported the opening on 13 June. This is a look back at the basics more than three months on.

What the center does
Kazinform describes the center as a single service hub for Chinese companies, offering consulting, exhibition services and support for Silk Road e-commerce projects. Suhao lists more: besides product showcases and e-commerce, it mentions services for organisations, commodity matchmaking, technology and cultural exchange, and office space. The target users are Chinese firms, mainly small and medium-sized ones, that want a headquarters or branch in Central Asia. Those extra functions are, for now, the company's own description.
In a Suhao article republished by Xinhua's Jiangsu channel, the company said a law firm advising Chinese companies on cross-border investment compliance had already moved in. That too comes from the operator.

Who runs it
The Jiangsu provincial government website stated on 16 June that the center is built and operated by Suhao Holding, a provincial state-owned company with roots in foreign trade. The Astana site is paired with the Central Asia Center in Jiangsu, opened in Nanjing in September 2024: the Nanjing venue gives the five Central Asian countries a showroom and trade desk in Jiangsu, while the Astana venue gives Jiangsu companies a place to exhibit and meet partners in Central Asia. Suhao says the Astana center will work together with its forward warehouse in Horgos, Xinjiang.

The Jiangsu trade and economic representative office in Kazakhstan was set up jointly by the Jiangsu Department of Commerce and Suhao, as both the provincial government and the company report. Suhao describes its job as liaison between businesses and government, matching partners and providing support services.
A China (Jiangsu)–Kazakhstan trade and economic cooperation forum was held in Astana in the same days. According to the Jiangsu government, several education-industry agreements were signed, including one under which Nanjing Vocational University of Industry Technology, Suhao and the Kazakh University of Technology and Business will set up a high-skilled workforce training center.

What it means for business
The following is the editors' analysis. For Jiangsu companies entering Kazakhstan, the center offers ready office, exhibition and advisory space, and the representative office adds a channel to local authorities. So far mainly functions have been published: admission terms, fees and the list of tenants have not been disclosed and are best checked with the operator.
