Kazakhstan's Agriculture Ministry said on October 12 it aims to earn about $1.5 billion a year from oil and fat exports by 2028; earnings rose from $247 million to $1.232 billion over five seasons. Kazakhstan built 146,500 vehicles in nine months, up 34.2%, with Changan and Chery among the top five brands
Preliminary figures from the Kazakhstan Automotive Union show 146,541 vehicles produced in January–September 2026, up 34.2% year on year. Chinese marques gained ground: Changan (15,148) and Chery (12,593) ranked among the five largest brands, both assembled at Astana Motors' plant in Almaty. Kazakhstan’s 30% shelf quota for local goods goes category by category, and marketplaces must rank “Made in Kazakhstan” first in search: amended internal trade rules take effect next week
Kazakhstan’s Order No. 235-NK amending the Internal Trade Rules takes effect on 19–20 October. Category 1–4 stores must keep at least 30% of shelf space for Kazakh-origin goods separately in every subcategory, every category and the store as a whole, placed mid-section at eye level. Online marketplaces must rank “Made in Kazakhstan” products first in non-personalised search results. For Chinese brands supplying imported goods to Kazakh retail chains and platforms, shelf and search visibility gets tighter, while companies producing locally may gain.
